House

This is the house that is not for sale that I want to buy. It reminds me of the many trips I have taken to England and have admired all the thatched roofs. The leaded window panes and curved windows makes me feel like I am back in the UK.

Here is a sign that is on Temple Street in Long Beach. I always drive by it and think to myself how I need to take a picture so everyone else can see the beautiful sign that I see several times a week. I think it looks like Arabic, but I am not 100% sure. I love the pronounced ascenders and descenders and how the font has calligraphic elements to it. Notice how each of the letters sort of seem to blend into the next? Stay tuned for more type studies...

Over the summer I met up with Heather and her sister in Sedona for the weekend. We went to this really cute arts and crafts village called, Tlaquepaque. Insidently I had been there before, but this time I was really able to casually look around all the cute art shops. I am always on the lookout for interesting typefaces and this is one that I found. It's one of my favorites so far.

This is the baby sweater I made for my friends, Michael and Kathryn. I knew they would appreciate the time that went into this small piece. When Michael opened the present, he seemed shocked that I had made it. I think it came out pretty well considering it was my first big knitting project after hats and scarfs. Notice the button... it's a kitty cat!
