Swatch Portraits

I found this idea on Purl Soho's website and I thought it would be perfect for my living room! These are now hanging above my couch and they really add such a nice touch to the room. I plan on adding more, but I wanted to start small and work my way up. A tutorial of these can be found here.

Discovering Baltimore

I have been busy with RA training for the past week and a half, but I really am trying to take advantage of every opportunity by driving around the city streets of Baltimore. Kelley and I went this morning to the farmer's market which is actually underneath a freeway, oddly enough. They had everything from my favorite (and something which is NOT available in California) concord grapes to live Maryland blue crabs. It was the biggest farmer's market (next to San Luis Obispbo and Davis) that I had ever been to. I will certainly try to go often.

Update: my graduate orientation is tomorrow and I will meet the other 7 students in my program. I am excited to register for classes!

Moved In

Hello friends and welcome to Baltimore, Maryland. I have officially moved and here is the front room of my apartment. My apartment is on the bottom floor of the undergraduate dorm and I am in charge of slightly over 600 freshmen. (!!!) I still have a lot of decorating to do and I am waiting for a new bed and a desk, but I am definitely feeling more comfortable here now. Check out my flickr for more pictures of my room.
